When my kiddo was a baby we made all of his food. It was cheaper and easier than buying the jarred stuff and he loved it. When he got a bit older, I ended up buying those expensive baby food and apple sauce pouches from the store more times than I would care to admit. My husband and I talked about how we wished they were refillable since it would be so nice to put whatever we wanted into those pouches for kiddo. Heck, I even tried washing one or two out to reuse… it doesn’t work, please don’t try it at home :) We even considered making our own refillable pouches, but could never figure it out.
A few months ago, I found the Sili Squeeze on Pinterest – http://pinterest.com/pin/85005511686713328/ – it is a reusable, silicone food pouch intended for homemade baby food and smoothies, in addition to ready-made favorites like yogurt and applesauce. Eureka! I was so excited, we found what we had been searching for all of this time!
The awesome people at Sili Squeeze sent me one to try out and I tore open the package as soon as it arrived. After washing it (did I mention it is dishwasher safe?!?) I filled it with apple sauce for kiddo. He tried and tried to get it out, but nothing happened. I was so bummed until I realized that I had been using the squeeze-controlled/spill-proof spout. Duh! I quickly switched it out with the Sili Squeeze with Eeeze spout and it worked like a charm. Kiddo loves eating from his “squeezy thing” and it is the only way I can get him to eat apple sauce or yogurt or basically anything that isn’t fruit snacks and goldfish! They even have a page of healthy recipes for the Sili Squeeze!!!
We have washed it dozens of times and it has always come out of the dishwasher clean and ready to go. I love that I can give it to kiddo in the car or on a walk and that I have control over what he is eating. It is also a bonus that we are saving money and the environment using the Sili Squeeze over those one-time-use store packages.
Kiddo loves the Sili Squeeze and mommy does too!
