When our daughter turned 1 this fall, I decided she “needed” an all-pink celebration, seeing as she specifically told me “pink’s my favorite color, Mom!” and all.  Then, like an insane full-time working mom-of-2 that I am, I decided I should make most of the all-pink menu myself.

I found endless inspiration on Pinterest and among my final selections were these gorgeous pink yogurt-covered pretzels:  http://pinterest.com/pin/50032245831556040/

I should’ve known better when I read some of the responses to the original blog posting…

I used thick Greek yogurt and possibly a literal ton of confectioners sugar, with a few drops of all-natural red food coloring, patiently dipped and double-dipped the pretzels, to no avail- the mixture would not stick.  In desperation (and running out of time) I sprinkled on some pink decorating sugar and chucked the batch in the oven to set up the required time.  I was rewarded with a barely-there sheen, a hint of pink that would have been awesome in a lipgloss – not so awesome on my pretzels.

Pink Pretzel Pintastrophe aka Pin Fail!

Luckily the much trickier-sounding pink popcorn recipe went off perfectly!

Check it out next week!

  1. Sorry for the fail, but I actually love reading about fails. It makes me feel better when I fail, and I have had plenty of them. Thanks for sharing!

  2. A little bit of wax melted with the chocolate purchased at a cake store probably would help the chocolate stick to the pretzels =)
