Do you remember those amazing soaps that I talked about a few weeks ago? I just received this email from the store owner, Tamara and wanted to share it with all of you.  It would be great if we could all join together help out this girl… not just for the free soaps… although  I am not going to lie, I LOVE my Escape Naturally Soaps and am looking forward to getting more ;)

Let me tell you a story:

On March 22nd of this year, my daughter’s former boyfriend and best friend committed suicide.  Tragic doesn’t begin to describe the loss of this beautiful 16 year old boy.

Since the 6th grade Jacob and my daughter, Taylor, have been playing in the advanced orchestra together.  They both went to the same high school – a target school for artistic children.  The kids that get into the “Center for the Arts” have to audition.  These aren’t just your average musicians…these are children that have futures in music, whether by getting a scholarship to college or moving on past that to become professionals.

This is Jacob’s RIP Page on Facebook

Their Orchestra was going to perform at the memorial ceremony.  We had to get there early so the orchestra could warm up.

After warming up, another musician’s (Siera) cello was accidentally knocked over and broken.  I saw it happen.  Not only did Siera just lose her friend, classmate and orchestra-mate of 5 years, she just lost her most prized possession.  The way the cello fell, it broke beyond repair.  Repairing this handmade cello was going to cost more than buying a new one.

This girl is incredible.  After her cello was broken, the school had one that she could borrow and she was brave enough to still perform for the memorial ceremony!

A fundraiser on Indiegogo was started to raise the money for a replacement.  She desperately needs this new cello for a summer music camp, her senior year of high school and to audition for college.

If you’re still with me… I know it is totally GROSS to ask for contributions to a fundraiser for a perfect stranger via my newsletter.  So, I apologize for that, but I’ve been watching this young girl play for 5 years.

There is nothing I can do for Jacob’s family…. their unfathomable loss has been with me since it happened and I feel absolutely helpless…. helping Siera reach her fundraising goal of $2000 is my way of trying to do something…anything.

If you feel it in your heart to contribute, I have an offer for you.

You probably don’t know, but I have started a line of Organic Soaps.  Anyone that contributes gets the same value of your contribution in soap.  All you have to do is forward your receipt from Indiegogo to me, along with your choice of the soaps you would like.  It’s a win win!  You get to help a very talented young girl that is in need AND you get some Organic Soap that is to.die.for!!
