I love Gen-Y diapers.  I have a Gen-Y diaper cover from years and years ago.  It is one of my favorite covers because it is so cute (Grey and Black with Skulls)  We used it on my first kiddo and I am using it for our newest little guy right now!  It is still in perfect shape and it has been used by at least 5 babies (we loaned to friends in between our kiddos).  I dug around and found a photo of my oldest kiddo when he was a baby wearing the diaper.  Wasn’t he cute?  ;)

We own a tan microfiber/ microsuede glider. It is great to use to rock little guy to sleep, but it is not so great to keep clean. This thing shows every single spot!

I went on Pinterest to look for way to clean microfiber, but nothing was working for me. The more I tried to clean it, the more water spots seemed to show up.

After trying every trick in the book, I finally found an incredibly easy way to clean my microfiber chair. It works every time!

All you will need is a microfiber cloth, water and ONE DROP of Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds Liquid Cleanser. That’s it.

Before you skip over this, let me just say that this post is in no way sponsored by Dr. Bronner’s. I didn’t get a sample to review or anything free, I just LOVE the product and it works so well I had to share it with all of you

If you don’t have any Sal Suds, I really recommend getting a bottle. Sal Suds may seem pricey, but most of the time I use only one or two drops. It lasts forever and cleans amazingly well.

Steps to {easily} Clean Microfiber

• Step 1: Fill a spray bottle with water
• Step 2: Add one to two drops of Sal Suds into the quirt bottle (make sure you add the water first or else everything will bubble over)
• Step 3: Squirt all over your chair and then scrub with the microfiber towel in a circular motion
• Step 4: Let dry and admire your clean chair

Be sure to test on an inconspicuous spot first if you are worried about your color fading or anything.

It is amazing how far technology has come in only a few years.  The video monitor we had for our first kiddo does not even compare to VTech’s new Safe & Sound Full Color Video and Audio Monitor.  I no longer have to squint to try to make out my baby’s face in the monitor.  The Safe & Sound monitor has the best picture quality I have ever seen in a baby monitor.  I love that I can zoom in or pan the camera… especially now that little guy is moving around so much in his crib. 

My favorite feature of the monitor has to be the volume control.  I no longer have to listen to static all night long. The parent unit is quiet unless there is a noise from the baby’s room.

The ability to talk from the parent unit to the baby unit is great.  Talking to little guy can sometimes get him to settle down. Hubby and I also use it to talk back and forth if one of us is putting the baby to sleep.

We have had no problem with reception with the Safe & Sound monitor.  It works up to 1,000 feet.  I can put little guy down for a nap and then be outside watching kiddo ride his bike and the monitor still works.

Since it can be expanded to up to 4 cameras, I am thinking that it might be nice to get an extra camera for my older kiddo’s room as well.

There is only one thing I would change about this awesome monitor.  I would love for them to add the ability to turn on and off the lullabies from the parent unit.  Little guy loves the music, but it would be wonderful to be able to turn it on from my room when he starts fussing in the middle of the night to help him soothe himself back to sleep.

I have researched many different baby monitors out there, but none compare to the Safe & Sound Baby Monitor from Vtech in my opinion.  It is nearly impossible to find a baby monitor with all of the features that come on the Safe & Sound monitor.  At only $129.95, I think it is an amazing deal considering other monitors with only a few of the same features run upwards of $250.

Do you remember my Pin-tastrophe a few months ago involving me trying to make DIY wool dryer balls? After that fisasco I turned towards the professionals and received 4 perfectly made wool dryer balls from WoolDryerBalls.com.

The only thing I would recommend is to take out any microfiber towels before drying since they just seem to create a ton of static no matter what. Other than the microfiber, I haven’t had any static issues and have not once had to use a dryer sheet or fabric softener!

Oh the things you figure out when you have a 3 year old!  Last week he broke off the ends of the AV cables. They were lodged in the TV and were not going to come out easily.

I tried to use tweezers, but couldn’t get a grip on the broken pieces.  Thankfully I found a super easy solution that worked!

• Step 1: Heat up a needle with a lighter until it glows red hot. (Be sure to wear gloves and use a pair of needle-nose pliers to grip the end of the needle so you don’t burn yourself)
• Step 2: Slowly insert the heated needle into the plastic core of the RCA center pin still located in the jack. Wait a few seconds for the needle to cool. (I blew on it to help cool it off, but not sure if it was necessary)
• Step 3: Slowly remove the needle and broken center pin straight out. 

The trick is to be patient

I was able to remove all 3 broken pieces without damaging the TV!  Yippee!

I love a good steak, so when Greensbury Market sent me some of their organic steak and chicken to review I was thrilled. I mean, who wouldn’t want to try some yummy organic, grass-fed meat and get to write about it???

I ordered the 10oz. Organic 100% Grass Fed New York Strip Steak as well as a 2lb. package of Organic Chicken Wings. Both arrived still frozen in the nice Greensbury insulated cooler. The cooler had instructions on how and where to recycle it, which is great if you are eco-conscious.

We ate the steak the next day since I just couldn’t wait. Hubby was a bit nervous about grilling it since it was going to be the subject of a blog post… LOL! He did say that it grilled up differently than other steaks… maybe because it has less saturated fat and cholesterol?  We were able to split the 10oz. steak and have a great dinner. I really like the fact that we saved money compared to dining out, but still had a cut of beef that was steakhouse quality.
