family fun

If you have never ventured to Cedar Point, we suggest that you do.  There is something for everyone in your family, it’s filled with family fun! I’ll get to that in a second :) But first, I want to highlight our trip last week.  We had a blast over Memorial Day weekend. It was awesome to see the park celebrate the holiday. Several high school bands played in various spots throughout the park, we even seen some stopping crowds as they marched down The Midway!  Very cool.

Cedar Point also hosted FREE admission for an Armed Forces Weekend!  Not only could any current, past, retired or honorably-discharged member of the United States Arm Forces receive free admission to the park, but also to Soak City – the amusement park’s water park. But, since Cedar Point is all about family, they also offered family members of the armed forces admission at a discounted rate during Armed Forces Weekend.  This is a fab way to give back to those that have given so much to our country. Thank you Cedar Point!

Speaking of family, Cedar Point truly is about family.  A group of ten of us explored the park on a gorgeous northeast Ohio Saturday.   Our day was just gorgeous. Temps in the lower 70’s and sunny clear skies along Lake Erie coast. Couldn’t ask for a better day to enjoy the park.

Family fun

Our group consisted of both children (age 2+) and adults, and everyone had a blast. Cedar point is known for their roller coasters. Did you know they have SEVENTEEN roller coasters? All that fun in one location!  And even if you are not a “roller coaster person,” there is so much to do. From water rides, to shows, a HUGE arcade, enjoying good eats, admiring the coast or exploring the Dinosaurs Alive Exhibit… there truly is something for everyone in the family.

Before we broke off in small groups to maximize our park experience, we ventured to Dinosaurs Alive. The kids loved this!  We followed the dinosaur footsteps on a trail to find a variety of creatures lurking about. The dinosaurs are motion activated. They actually move (and it’s realistic) and make noises (RAWR!). What I found neat, and so did the kiddos, is that you could actually control some of the dinos. Super fun. There was even a dig and explore area for the kids to excavate dinosaur bones, bring out the architect in your little ones :)   And, of course, the show stopper T-REX is what everyone wanted to see.  Not only were we thrilled to see the life-sized realistic dinosaurs!  The kids were just simply amazed with the dinosaurs.

Be sure to stop at the Park Offices as you enter the main entrance, or at the Town Hall Museum, for your child to be measured!  They’ll receive a wristband that will indicate their height range, making it easier to enjoy all the park has to offer the little ones :) While you’re there, sign up for KidTrack at Guest Services. This program allows parents with cell phones to “quickly reunite with their separated child.” This is a fab service offered by the park!

Cedar Point offers even more for the kiddos. Meet Snoopy and various Peanuts characters.  Literally, the kids can meet Snoopy…

family fun

Snoopy and his pals, the Peanuts characters, bring all sorts of fun for kids at Cedar Point! Not only is there fun to be had at Planet Snoopy, but also Camp Snoopy… WOOHOO!! From rides to events and more, little tykes will be looking forward to their next visit.
