Today was a family cache event. It was a fun cache called 10.10.10 Rusty Gate. It was located on a quiet, windy road about 15 minutes from our house. We actually drove past the GZ (intentionally!) to the end of the road where it has a great scenic over look of a reservoir.
Day 14 of our 31 Days of Geocaching.
The cache’s namesake is no longer there, but the cache is So we made the quick find and dropped a TB.
You will note some more cacher lingo: the TB or Travel Bug. Geocaching has trackable dog tags, coins and other small swag items with unique serial numbers that allow the owners of the tags to assign the tags missions and then track them as they move about. Below are a few examples of trackables. We dropped the pig TB off today at the Rusty Gate. Travel Bug tags cost $4.25 on geocaching.com and other caching websites and then its up to the owners to attach a mission to the tag!
